Ellen Kerans (Board of Directors), a seasonal inhabitant of Lake County
since childhood, has recently moved to the area as a year round resident. Ellen
comes to us with an extensive background in both public education and fund
development. Ellen was a public school teacher for 12 years and retired from
her position as the Director of Development at Washtenaw Community College after
15 years of service. She has served as a volunteer board and committee member
for several non-profit organizations in the Ann Arbor area, including the American
Lung Association, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Humane Society of Washtenaw
County, and the YMCA. Most recently Ellen assisted the Washtenaw Chapter of the
American Red Cross with their capital campaign which successfully raised funds in
excess of 6 million dollars.
