There is a place where you can find out everything you need to know about how to keep your family, home and business safe.

That place is the West Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross. Learn how you can help prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies like house fires and other disasters.

Join other members of our community by taking the following five simple steps to help make a difference. Together, we can save a life.

Make a Plan: Planning ahead is the first step to a calmer and more assured disaster response. For more information on making a plan, see our Together We Prepare Macromedia Flash presentation.
Build a Kit:What you have on hand when a disaster happens can make a big difference. Plan to store enough supplies for everyone for at least three days. For more information on building a kit, see our Together We Prepare Macromedia Flash presentation.
Get Trained: Learning simple first aid techniques can give you the skills and confidence to help anyone in your home, your neighborhood and at work. For more information on available training, visit our Health & Safety page.
Volunteer: Few Americans are untouched by Red Cross services – all made possible by volunteers, people like you. Our communities need our help. There are so many needs and so many ways to serve. For more information on volunteering, visit our Volunteer Opportunities page
Give Blood: Blood is needed in times of emergency, but the ongoing need is also great. For more information on donating blood, visit our Blood Services page.
