AMERICAN RED CROSS CPR & FIRST AID TRAINING CONTINUES TO MEET DAY CARE PROVIDER LICENSING REQUIREMENT

In the last year, family and group child care home licensing requirements have changed, leaving some providers looking for training to meet the changing needs. One of the most significant changes is the requirement that CPR training shall be maintained on a yearly basis and first aid training must be completed every 36 months. American Red Cross CPR and first aid training continues to meet those requirements.

In our recently revised First Aid/CPR/AED program, the American Red Cross has incorporated the latest science for first aid, CPR and emergency cardiovascular care and added a wealth of educational innovations so that you can help children reach their future safely. From the innovative and engaging "practice-while-you-watch" instructional method that allows learners to perform skills along with a video while a classroom instructor provides more individual guidance, helping students learn CPR skills more effectively and quickly to the new participant materials support the learning process and provide an excellent refresher and reference after training. A new training DVD is customized with specific types of emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in environments where children live and play.

Additional training is available and includes a one-hour Epinephrine Auto-Injector Training Module designed to help individuals learn how to correctly administer an Epinephrine auto-injector to a person with a severe allergic reaction and new 45-minute Asthma Inhaler Training Lesson designed to help individuals learn how to respond to a person having an asthma attack quickly and with confidence. Training in Bloodborne Pathogens - Preventing Disease Transmission this two hour class teaches employees vital information about managing potential exposure to an infectious disease in the workplace, including how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to prevent exposures and what to do if exposed to infectious materials.
