RED CROSS REQUESTS BLOOD DONATIONS AT UPCOMING DRIVES
The demand for blood is constant. Consistent and steady blood donations year-round are the only way
we can maintain a safe and adequate supply. The American Red Cross considers a 3-day or 72-hour
supply of blood and blood products to be safe and adequate, with a 5 to 7-day supply being optimal in
order to meet emergency or disaster-caused needs.
With the holiday season just around the corner, the West Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross is
requesting that area residents make an extra effort to donate blood at one of the following upcoming
drives. Appointments are not necessary.
Wednesday, November 8 12 - 5:45 p.m. West Shore Chapter, Scottville
Wednesday, November 8 12 - 5:45 p.m. Good Shepherd Lutheran, Manistee
Thursday, November 9 12 - 5:45 p.m. City Hall, Ludington
All persons are encouraged to give blood. Potential donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110
pounds and be in good health. For more information on donating blood or on American Red Cross
Blood Services, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.
The West Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross is a United Way Member Agency.
